Hi, I’m Emily, and I’m so glad you’re here!

I began Total W(h)ine in 2018 when I needed an outlet after staying home with my babies. My goal was to be the next big thing on Pinterest, but that quickly changed to me wanting to become the person I wish I had through all the struggles of the NFP life. I never imagined that 5 years later, this whim of mine would become all that it has. Only God can dream up something this big and this fun!

On this page, you’ll find all my resources in one place, so scroll on down to find what you need.

Do you need to know that you’re not the only one who struggles living different aspects of your faith? Are you a Catholic woman desperate for answers and guidance around sex and marriage that is faithful and practical and maybe even funny? Do you like LOTR or Star Wars references mixed into normal conversation? This podcast is for you!

Episode 9: Contraceptive Mentality, The Real Stuff The Total Whine Podcast

In today's episode, I invite you to join a conversation with two of my very good friends, Mary Bruno and Bridget Busacker, about how the fruit of the ideology that "NFP can be used with a contraceptive mentality" is some really bad fruit. While episode 8 contains verbatim quotes of what the Church actually says about NFP and sex, this episode is three friends explaining how this ideology leads down some deeply problematic roads  – ultimately because it is rooted in a rejection of Church teaching.  Bios for my guests and where to find them: Mary Bruno is the co-founder and executive director of the non profit FAbM Base, a Creighton Practitioner, and author of Twelve Stripes Deep: How Infertility & Other Suffering Delivered My Greatest Joys. She has been married to Chris for 10 years and they have one adopted daughter, Bella, and hope to adopt another child soon. Mary plans to publish a journal companion for infertile women in summer of 2023. Find her at http://www.fabmbase.org and on Instagram @whitelotusblooming and @fabmbase. Bridget Busacker is the founder of Managing Your Fertility, a one stop shop for Catholic and Catholic-curious women for support and clarity in the practice of fertility awareness. She provides practical resources and courses on her website, as well as through her podcast and social media. She and her husband David reside in Minnesota with their two precious daughters. David is often behind the scenes supporting and joining Bridget's work as her "marketing intern." Find Bridget at http://www.managingyourfertility.com and on Instagram @managingyourfertility.

Real Talk on NFP

Whether you’re trying to find a method of fertility awareness, need some practical help and
solidarity, or if you think the Catholic Church is just straight up nuts for this teaching…
this page is for you!

Emily titled her blog Total Whine for a reason.
The real talk is not limited to NFP.

Marriage, Motherhood & Culture

The level of any civilization is the level of its womanhood.
Love always goes out to meet the demands of the object loved. If the one loved is virtuous, we must be virtuous to achieve it. Hence, the higher the love, the loftier must be those who pursue; the nobler the woman, the nobler the world.

Venerable Fulton J. Sheen, Characters of the Passion

Emily is a frequent guest on podcasts, blogs and conferences speaking to all things sex, marriage, motherhood and NFP
